First mission for Global Seoul Mates 2014: Taking pictures of the letters S, E, O, U and L of my daily life and forming the word Seoul. This is my entry. South Korea is such a diverse country. Seoul is the heart of South Korea, representing it all. Seoul is ever changing and growing, but the culture and heritage is such an important part of every day life in Seoul. I tried to portray the different aspects of Seoul through my images. Firstly, food and sharing food is such an important part of Korean culture. There is an endless supply of restaurants everywhere in Seoul. Korean BBQ being one of the most popular foods all year round. Seoul is a famous for its fashion and fashion items. You can see cute and funky things every where you go. The E is representative of that. One of the popular tourist attraction in Seoul is the Palace. Visiting there you can experience age old traditions with a back drop of sky scrapers and cranes of an ever growing city. One can experience both old and new simultaneously. The picture of the O was taken at Gyeongbokgung. Around every corner Seoul is showing off its artistic side. The U is a picture I took of one of the many sculptures one can find in all areas of Seoul. Last but not least, the L is a picture of a memorial site. These sites one can find all over Korea. This is significant of the importance of families and family life in Korea.
