Mayor Room to the world at CES, US In early January, Mayor Park Won-soon gave a keynote speech on the theme of 'Value and the Future that Smart City Seoul Pursues' at CES, the world's largest consumer electronics and ICT exhibition in Las Vegas. Mayor Park Won-soon has brought up a conversation topic, through his speech, saying that the key value of Smart City Seoul is 'people-centric sustainable innovation' and introduced Seoul's smart city technology and policies that are transforming the lives of citizens. While there, he introduced the plan of Seoul building free public Wi-Fi with its own communication network throughout the city, a feat that is unprecedented in the world. Through this, Seoul is narrowing the digital gap and guaranteeing equal digital fundamental rights. He also introduced a plan to collect city data with thousands of IoT sensors throughout Seoul to innovate public services. In addition, Seoul has implemented ‘Digital Citizen Mayor Room’, which is considered the pinnacle of what it means to be a true Smart City, by operating 'Seoul Hall' on the theme of 'Smart City & Smart Life' for the first time at CES. Mayor Park Won-soon demonstrated the 'Digital Citizen Mayor Room' at the CES 'Seoul Hall' and showed firsthand how Seoul is leveraging smart technology to improve the efficiency of the city's major decision-making.
